Rainbow guides are the youngest and newest section of the Girl Guides Association. Girls can join Rainbows as soon as they reach 5 years of age, and normally stay until they are old enough to join Brownies at 7 years. Meetings are fun and Rainbow Guides learn alot of new and interesting things. If anyone is interested for their daughter to join, or would like more information please contact Jackie on the above telephone number.

Twelve young people aged between 12 and 18 have the opportunity to represent their peers and become the voice of the youth. They have a grant for their expenses from the Parish Council and are serviced by a Clerk who keeps administrative and financial records.
They have been responsible for the siting of a bus stop, designing the village logo, purchasing the ramp which was sited at Colden Common park and are currently involved in the siting of a kickabout area to the east of the Community Centre. Two Parish Councillors attend their meetings and report directly to the Parish Council. More information on Youth Parish Councils........

This project is organised by a management committee who employ two part time workers, two evenings a week. The management committee are responsible for ensuring there are sufficient funds for the project to continue. The project has been running for several years and is proving successful. Its aims include making contact with young people in their chosen meeting places around the village, establishing relationships with them based on trust and mutual respect. The young people are supported by helping them to identify their own needs and aspirations, helping them gain access to information they may require and provide feedback to the local community on the needs of young people.
Activity opportunities offered to them have included a night 'rescue' activity, high ropes and low ropes challenges, a BBQ, use of the Youth Options equipment.
