50 householders benefit from the allotments and there is currently a waiting list. Responsibility for management of the area lies with the Parish Council and the income from the modest rents charged off-sets the running costs of the allotments.

Computer Club

Meets first Wednesday of the month at the Colden Common Community Centre. The meetings start with a speaker and then after a refreshment interval there is an opportunity to exchange views or queries with other members of the club on any matter of interest.

The singers meet on a Thursday evening in the Community Centre except during January. The Junior Singing group starts at 6.30pm and adults at 7.45pm. Mew members are always welcome either call in or call Robin Worman

The drama group meets when there is a show in production but new members are still welcome. Every January there is a pantomime in the Community Centre.

The Woodpeckers Environmental Group

We are a group working within the boundaries of Colden Common in order to preserve the natural habitat and so encourage wildlife. Membership is free and not confined to residents of Colden Common. We coppice, plant trees and natural bulbs, cut back scrub, erect bird boxes etc.

We meet on the second Sunday of most months for a couple of hours from 10.00am so if you enjoy good company and would like to encourage all forms of wildlife for the present and future generations please get in touch.
